Strandbeest Urban Farm
The New Line, an urban farm along the High Line, is home to wind powered creatures from the beaches of the Netherlands, called Strandbeests. After migrating to New York, these creatures evolve to form a data-collecting transportation network; a “New Line.” Collected data reveal insights into the social and environmental conditions of New York City and are displayed on the Urban Farm’s data screens. This architecture of information reveals the processes of Strandbeest production and displays information concerning the current state of New York City.
