This operable Pastry Atelier could be deployed to animate the alleys of Richmond, VA, and stand as a place of commerce and social gathering. A related design pursuit combines a pastry chef and pianist in a program composed of preparation and presentation spaces.

The Haven House team focused on the design, construction, and testing of a transitional housing model in collaboration with the Thomas Jefferson Area Coalition for the Homeless. As part of the established partnership with TJACH, the team developed a transitional housing community as a prefabricated, panelized system that can be deployed as a flat-packed unit to a Charlottesville site. The Haven House is intended to provide an immediate, temporary housing alternative to church basements, nightly shelters and ad hoc campsites while TJACH works towards more permanent housing solutions. Strategies of passive environmental design optimize indoor light and air quality, and exterior spaces are intended to help promote social interaction and a renewed sense of community.

"Farming Forney" is a masterplan for a suburban development in Forney, Texas, a small town outside of Dallas. The project proposes a community that develops around the processes and culture of agriculture.

The work below reflects initial research of Dallas suburban community typologies and potential crop types to be farmed in Forney.

"Weave Bridge" Competition Entry for Charlottesville's Belmont Bridge Competition.

The intent of PhotoVoice is to expose and analyze current events and trending topics through the unedited perspective of first-hand, user experiences. This site for crowd-sourced photojournalism is a visual and linguistic dialogue that informs global currents across varying scales and dimensions.

An energy education curriculum and display materials for ecoREMOD, a 1920s house showcasing energy upgrades and historic preservation. ecoREMOD is currently home to the Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP), a Charlottesville based non-profit that coordinates energy efficiency projects for homes.

Served as creative director for team of engineers in realization of exhibition.

The UVA Bay Game is a large-scale participatory simulation based on the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The Game allows players to take the roles of stakeholders, such as farmers, developer, watermen, and local policy-makers, make decisions about their livelihoods or regulatory authority; and see the impacts of their decisions on their own personal finances, the regional economy, and watershed health. It is an adaptable educational and learning tool for raising awareness about watershed stewardship anywhere in the world; a tool for exploring and testing policy choices; and a tool for evaluating new products and services.

I design, program, and maintain graphics for the game, and focus on the "Waterman" player interface.
